M60 partially closed near Trafford Centre following crash - live updates

Long queues are building up near the Trafford Centre following an accident on the M60. All traffic on the anti-clockwise carriageway is being held near junction nine for Trafford Park.

Pictures and video from the scene taken moments after the accident shows four stationary cars with their hazard warning lights flashing.

One car is parked close to the central reservation. In an update at 4.01pm traffic monitoring service Inrix reported: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M60 anticlockwise at J9 A5081 Park Way (Trafford Park)."

National Highways reports two lanes are currently closed with queues backing up in both directions to junctions eight and 11. An update on the NH website says normal traffic conditions are expected to resume between 5pm and 5.15pm.
