'Look at the bloody tip!': Jason Manford launches scathing rant on 'unbelievable' state of Opera House after opening night of Jack and the Beanstalk

Jason Manford launched a scathing rant on the 'unbelievable' state of the Opera House after the opening night of pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.

The panto opened at the city centre theatre, on Quay Street, on Saturday night (December 2), also starring Myra DuBois, and West-End performers Samara Casteallo and Emma Williams. But, after the curtains had drawn and the crowds had left, the comedian took to social media to show the 'tip' that had been left behind in the auditorium.

Taking to site X, formerly Twitter, Manford shared a portrait video, now viewed over 50,000 times, where he encouraged audiences to take their rubbish with them and 'find a bin' as he was left shocked by the state of the venue. Along with the post he penned: "What’s your take on litter inside a theatre? Is it audience or staff’s responsibility? What d'ya reckon?"

"Look at the bloody tip people leave" he said, as he panned the camera around to the seats. "Why do people do this? I even tidy up after myself at the cinema.

"Look at this. I mean, it's nuts init. Every single row. Shocking, unbelievable... you wouldn't treat your own home like that would you?

"Grab your stuff at the end. That's what I do... maybe it's because I used to work front of house at the cinema. I grab my stuff at the end, take it with me, and find a bin."

The Jack and the Beanstalk pantomime will run at the Opera House until December 31. Tickets are available online.
