M60 hit by long delays after police stop all traffic

Queues were building on the M60 this morning following a crash in Stockport.

Long delays were in place after traffic was temporarily stopped on the M60 clockwise after J1 (Stockport Pyramid). There was congestion to J24 (Denton).

All lanes were reopened shortly after 7am but long delays remained throughout the morning. It is not yet clear whether anyone was injured.

Traffic has now returned to normal on the M60.

Delays are continuing to ease on the M60, but it is still busier than usual.

There is now congestion stretching to J23 on the M60 clockwise.

Delays have reduced to around 25 minutes.

Congestion is also affecting routes through Bredbury now as cars try to divert.

The long delays on the M60 are not easing as rush hour traffic builds, with delays remaining at around 30 minutes.

Motorists are currently facing delays of 30 minutes on the M60 clockwise between J1 (Stockport) and J24 (Denton), according to National Highways.

We are seeing long delays on the M60 clockwise near Stockport today following an accident that has now been moved to the hard shoulder.
