M60 closed clockwise due to police incident - latest updates

National Highways: North-West has advised that a closure is in place on the clockwise M60 owing to a police-led incident. The stretch of road affected runs from Junction 13 (for Worsley) to Junction 15 (for the M61/Swinton Interchange).

The Inrix traffic management system, meanwhile, reports that traffic trapped within the closure is being turned round. Worsley Brow Road, which runs under Junction 13 is also closed. Officers from North West Motorway Police are currently at the scene.

The incident was first reported at 3am on Thursday (March 17). The was no information immediately available on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
