M6 delays after traffic stopped following crash and broken down van

All traffic was stopped on the M6 following a crash this morning (March 13).

Travel services are reporting the collision happened around 7.30am on the northbound carriageway, between junction 18 for Middlewich and junction 19 for Knutsford, in Cheshire.

All traffic was temporarily stopped by emergency services who were responding to the crash. Drivers have been warned to expect delays this morning.

Lanes have since reopened, but one lane remained shut due to a broken down van in the same area.

Delays continued until around 9.15am. All lanes have since reopened.

Travel service Inrix said earlier: "All traffic being temporarily held and stationary traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound from J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel) to J19 A556 (Knutsford)."
