M4 crash live updates as 'serious' collision causes 'significant' delays
Motorists have been warned to expect delays on the M4 in Bridgend county following a serious collision.
South Wales Police has confirmed that they have been called to the scene of the incident on the M4 eastbound at junction 36 for Sarn this afternoon. While there are no closures in the area, the police force has warned about "significant" delays on the motorway.
According to AA, at around 3.05pm there were severe delays of up to 15 minutes, with the average speed of 10mph on the road. South Wales Police has advised road users to find an alternative route for their journey. In a statement shared on social media, the police force said: "We're at the scene of a serious collision on the M4 Junction 36 Sarn Eastbound.
"The road is not closed, but there are significant delays. Please use an alternative route and avoid the area at this time. Thank you for your cooperation and patience."
Traffic monitoring service Inrix has also issued an update on the incident. Their traffic update reads: "M4 Eastbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident after J36 A4061 ( Bridgend / Sarn Service Area)."
