M4 crash causes delays near Cardiff - live updates

An accident is causing delays on the M4 near Cardiff on Monday morning (January 15). Traffic monitors showed that one lane is blocked westbound from junction 32 Coryton to junction 33 Cardiff West Services around 7.30am.

Congestion is heavy in the area. Traffic Wales, which monitors the roads in Wales, says that lane three was closed and traffic officers were on the scene.

All traffic was held for time so the vehicles involved could be moved to the hard shoulder. All lanes re-opened just before 8am, but congestion remains.

There has also been an accident on the A48 Eastern Avenue. The westbound carriageway is partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident from A4232 Pontprennau to A4161 Southern Way. Congestion to the A48(M) at St Mellons.
