Luzern won't make same Hibs 'mistakes' at home as captain Pius Dorn adamant they CAN overturn deficit

Luzern won't make the same mistakes as they did against in Leith when they face Hibs in Switzerland this week.

That's according to skipper Pius Dorn who is determined to turn their Europa Conference League tie around. Lee Johnson's team ran out 3-1 winners in the Scottish capital, Dylan Vente and Jordan Obita striking after Ismajl Beka cancelled out Joe Newell's opener. It was a thrilling game that Hibs deserved to win but Luzern captain Dorn is adamant his side can turn it around.

The carrot of a moneyspinning showdown against Premier League side Aston Villa is dangling at the end of the stick and Dorn says they will throw the kitchen sink at Hibs to get there. He said: "We didn't take our chances in Scotland. We won't make that mistake again in Lucerne. We'll throw everything at it and try to turn the result around.

"We are extremely motivated for this game. Nothing is decided yet. And we will give absolutely everything to try and get through to the next round."

And Luzern boss Mario Frick reckons his players are especially determined to overturn a poor first leg showing after they held Swiss champions Young Boys to a 1-1 draw at the weekend. He pointed out: "We actually played a good away game in Scotland, but we didn't get the rewards we deserved.

"We were extremely frustrated after the defeat because we gave Hibs too many gifts and we have to stop that. But if we fight like that again and are as aggressive and strong as we were against Young Boys and move it up a notch, I'm convinced that we'll go forward to the next round. I can assure you, we are very, very much looking forward to Thursday."
