Luke Ayling's blunt answer to Philippe Coutinho question after Aston Villa star torments Leeds captain
Aston Villa were unable to win all three points against Leeds United on Wednesday night despite Philippe Coutinho and Jacob Ramsey's stunning performances.
Brazil international Coutinho scored Villa's first goal and set-up both of Ramsey's strikes which had put Villa in a comfortable 3-1 advantage just minutes before half-time.
However, Dan James' second goal of the half reduced Leeds' deficit before the interval and centre-back Diego Llorente managed to grab an equaliser in the second half.
Villa head coach Steven Gerrard credited Leeds' performance after full-time, but also highlighted Coutinho's brilliant individual display.
"You should stop watching football if you don't like watching Coutinho," he said afterwards.
Leeds right-back Luke Ayling was the man tasked with keeping a lid on the former Liverpool ace, and he felt that he adjusted well as the game went on.
But asked by the BBC if he enjoyed facing Coutinho, Ayling replied: “No!
“Naa, we worked hard to get here so when you come up against players like that it’s a good learning curve.
“But I stuck to my task and I felt I did alright as the game went on.”
