Luis Palma Celtic transfer bid 'launched' as Brendan Rodgers weighs up swoop for Honduras winger

Celtic have reportedly launched a £3.5million bid for Honduran winger Luis Palma.

Brendan Rodgers has been linked with a number of wide players since he return to Parkhead, a move that was quickly followed by the exit of Jota to Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia, as the Scottish champions banked a healthy £25million transfer fee to play around with. Marco Tilio and Yang Hyun-jun have already joined to bolster the flanks but now the Mail Online report that the Aris Thessaloniki attacker is the subject of a transfer bid from Glasgow.

The 23-year-old has been touted as a target of rivals Rangers to replace Ryan Kent but the youngster has impressed in the Super League in Greece and it appears Celtic have taken interest. They face competition with Watford and Anderlecht among the clubs interested in Palma. The Hoops are also credited with interest in Brondby striker Mathias Kvistgaarden, but have been told the Danes value the forward at around £5.9million.

Rodgers has made six new signings already this campaign, with the Mail's report continuing that the Irishman, who admitted he wants to add 'quality' after the weekend's shock defeat to Kilmarnock, wants to add a number of players before next week's deadline.
