Celtic transfer state of play on Haksabanovic, Lyanco and Tierney as Luis Palma sent Aris farewell by boss

Brendan Rodgers has demanded new Celtic boss recruits after the stalemate with St Johnstone - and he looks set for a busy end to the transfer window.

The disappointing result at Celtic Park was far from ideal preparation for the first derby showdown of the new season with a trip across the Glasgow to divide to face Rangers next on the agenda. Couple that with a Viaplay Cup exit at the hands of Kilmarnock and the Irishman is in need of a boost going into the clash at Ibrox - and new recruits will be exactly what he is looking for.

There has been no new faces since Gustaf Lagerbielke came in the door and the Swede has been left as the only fit central defender going into the blockbuster Scottish Premiership clash. As well as incoming stars there could be outgoing fringe players if the Irishman opts to slash his squad size.

But what is the next move in the market for the Hoops? Record Sport takes a look.

Sead Haksabanovic has taken to social media in the wake of a disappointing fortnight for Brendan Rodgers' side in what has been perceived by fans as a dig at his current situation at Parkhead. Since joining from Rubin Kazan last summer, the winger has been a peripheral figure at the club under both Ange Postecoglou and Rodgers.

The social media post could be a hint that he is heading out of the door but before he departs the Montenegro international was taken to task by Record Sport columnist Chris Sutton on Twitter. He said: “Haksabanovic may have a point but he’s out of order making his point in public. Just go and knock on the manager’s door and tell him if you’re unhappy… and playing well also helps!”
