Jamie Allen was hoping to make a big impression as one of four new bombshells on Love Island but it seems that his arrival has not brought joy to everyone.
The 23-year-old footballer walked out on pre-season training with FC Halifax Town so that he could appear on the ITV2 dating show, with one fan bemoaning that he had only just signed a new contract with the team.
Ahead of walking into the villa, Jamie teased about his prospects: "I shoot, I usually score, if I want something, I’ll go and get it.”
The club he left behind feel that Jamie may have scored an own goal as they released a statement via Twitter, which showed that he hasn't arrived on the show with their blessings.
FC Halifax tweeted: "Jamie Allen has decided to join the cast of [heart emoji] Island 2022, making his intentions clear that the opportunity is very important to him.
“The matter will be reviewed on his return.”
Jamie had better hope that he returns with the love of his life as his football career may be in a cul-de-sac after he chose to pursue his dream of the perfect partner ahead of bonding with his teammates.
