Louis Saha compares Erik ten Hag to Eddie Howe after Manchester United appointment

Louis Saha reckons Erik ten Hag should aim to emulate Eddie Howe and Newcastle when he becomes Manchester United manager next season. Ten Hag will spend the rest of this campaign chasing down a third Eredivisie title with Ajax before touching down in the Premier League from Amsterdam this summer.

After sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November, figures in the Old Trafford boardroom took time to settle on their permanent replacement for the Norwegian and Ralf Rangnick will continue to the lead the team for their final four games of the season as he prepares to take up an advisory role. He will undertake that position while coaching the Austria national team.

As for Howe, meanwhile, he has guided Saudi-backed Newcastle to the top half after taking over in November and initially being faced with a genuine relegation threat. During that time, Howe steered the Magpies clear and has also built a dynamic team - while further recruits will bolster their status during the upcoming window.
