Livingston midfielder says 'not one player' gets pass marks in Motherwell defeat

Livingston midfielder Jason Holt refused to blame a contentious penalty decision for the Lions' 1-0 defeat at Fir Park, admitting his side simply didn't deserve anything from the game.

The visitors produced a disjointed performance that lacked everything that had helped to contribute to their impressive start of the season.

Despite that, they could have been walking away with a share of the spoils as the officials awarded a highly debatable penalty to the hosts midway through the second half of a drab affair. A header at the back post appeared to strike Cristian Montano on the chest but was ruled to have hit the defender's arm with Nick Walsh pointing to the spot.

Kevin van Veen dispatched the penalty for the only goal of the game. Livi's bid to get back into the contest was dealt a blow when substitute Dylan Bahamboula was shown two yellow cards in quick succession as they fell to defeat.

Holt commented: "I never saw it (penalty decision) I didn’t have a view of it and I can’t really comment on it.

"Take away that, I don’t think we deserved anything from the game at all. We couldn’t impose ourselves.

We were poor all over the park. Every department just didn’t impose itself on the game at all. We didn’t threaten the goal. It’s not been like us in recent weeks and we’re really disappointed."

He added: "In every department we were lacking. It’s not like us and not what we’re about. We want to put that right next week.

"Not one player gets pass marks and we were well below the levels we have set in recent weeks. That’s the most disappointing thing.

“We will analyse it, go through it and take it from there."
