Livingston defender hails 'brilliant' performance in win over Hibs

Livingston defender James Penrice insists the ‘brilliant’ Lions were well worth the three points at Easter Road - and is hopeful his display will lead to more game time.

The full-back started his first league game of the season and his pinpoint deliveries into the box resulted in Livi’s first two goals as they ran out 3-2 winners and picked up their first three points in the top flight this term.

He said: “I thought we were brilliant all over the park. We were value for money, I thought we were absolutely fantastic.

“I think it’s well documented that we lost good players last season but the boys who came in have been brilliant. Some boys really get it straight away - look at Mick Devlin - and some take a bit of time we everyone in that dressing room is there to help each other.”

He added: “I’ve not really played in the league so I was delighted to get that early assist and it made it even easier coming back into the side because it was a brilliant performance from everyone.

“I don’t think I’ve proven a point. What I’ve shown over the last couple of years is that it’s in my game. I contributed with goals and assists in a number of positions last season.

“I just want to be playing games and hopefully I’ve shown that I’ve got that quality.”
