Livingston hero Mo Sangare delivers as strike sends Lee Johnson packing

Livingston goal hero Mo Sangare was hailed by boss David Martindale as his wonderstrike licked Hibs - and cost Lee Johnson his job.

The Liberian international produced a tremendous long-range strike to make it 3-1 at Easter Road and, while Josh Campbell pulled one back late on for the Hibees, the club's board took the decision to part ways with Johnson the following day after three straight defeats to start the Premiership season.

Sangare, signed from Accrington Stanley in the summer, has been promising such a strike with his left-foot thunderous effort flying past Max Boruc and setting up Livi's first win of the campaign.

Martindale said: "I think I was the only one in the stadium shouting, ‘Mo, don’t shoot’. We do a shooting drill where Mo says, ‘Gaffer, I’m going to lick it’ and every week I go, ‘Mo, when I am going to see this ball getting licked?’

“He came off the park tonight and said, ‘Gaffer, I licked it’ and I said, ‘You certainly did, kid’.

“But I tell you what, he’s a threat from anywhere between 12 and 25-30 yards. He’s definitely got that in his locker.”

The Lions were simply too good for Hibs with the final scoreline flattering the hosts.

Livi took the lead on eight minutes as Joel Nouble's defence-splitting pass sent James Penrice clear on the left flank. His pass across goal was diverted into his own net by Jordan Obita under the threat of Scott Pittman.

Hibs had plenty of the ball but
