Liverpool trio join forces for golf's Dubai Desert Classic Pro-Am during winter break

Liverpool FC stars James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andy Robertson were just a few of many big names competing in the Dubai Desert Classic Pro-Am on Tuesday.

The Premier League is experiencing a winter break of sorts with the season halted until 5 February - and players who are not on international duty have jetted off to earn a needed rest.

Dubai appears to be a popular location for top-flight players and a select few have taken the chance to try their hand at one of the most luxurious courses in the world.

England duo Harry Maguire and Jordan Pickford were also present as the five stars swapped boots for their clubs.

The three Reds with paired with South African star Chart Schwartzel - the winner of the Masters back in 2011. It was a rather stacked field, with the likes of Ian Poulter, Henrik Stenson and Danny Willett.

After securing a 3-1 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Sunday, the trio jetted to Dubai to play on the Majlis Course at The Emirates Golf Club. They will return to club duty when Liverpool face Championship club Cardiff City in the fourth round of the FA Cup on February 6.

As for Maguire and Pickford of Manchester United and Everton respectively, they were playing in another group alongside professional Ryan Fox.

They posed for a picture with Irish player and former Open champion Shane Lowry before teeing off. The Ryder Cup star posted the photo on Instagram with the caption: “Great group today in Dubai. Easy money for the Irish.”

The England superstars were seen flying out of Manchester on Saturday night along with United forward Marcus Rashford and Aston Villa captain Tyrone Mings.
