Liverpool seeking £100m windfall from five sales to bring summer clear-out to a dozen

Liverpool may see the total number of player exits hit 12 this summer with sales on the horizon for a quintet who could generate £100m in transfer fees.

The Reds recently published their retained list which confirmed the departure of seven stars. Divock Origi was the headline name on the list, with the cult favourite now free to wrap up a move to AC Milan.

Loris Karius, Sheyi Ojo and Ben Woodburn are also now free to seek new challenges elsewhere. Young trio Elijah Bonnar-Dixon, Luis Longstaff and Sean Wilson have also made way.

But while those seven haven’t generated fees due to their contracts expiring, a report has detailed five players the Reds will bring £100m in for if they get their way.

The first and most high-profile name who could depart is Sadio Mane.

The Senegalese is a modern day Liverpool legend, though after six outstanding years on Merseyside, Mane now wants out.

Liverpool’s blossoming pursuit of Darwin Nunez could accelerate Mane’s departure to Bayern Munich. The German side are the primary contender to sign Mane at present, though they’ll have to improve on their first two bids.

Their latest totalled just £30m with Liverpool holding out for £42.5m. The fact around £9m of Bayern’s £30m bid was earmarked for difficult-to-obtain add-ons irked the Reds’ hierarchy.

Fellow forward Takumi Minamino has also been told he can leave if a £17m bid is lodged. Leeds United may rekindle their January interest with the Japanese well known to Whites boss Jesse Marsch through their time at RB Salzburg.

According to This is Anfield’s David Lynch, Southampton, Wolves, Fulham and Monaco are also exploring a deal.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the third who could recoup a fee, though it’ll be far lower than the £35m Liverpool
