Liverpool players ‘will have talked to’ £83m star over Anfield move

Liverpool players will have held ‘conversations’ with Borussia Dortmund sensation Jude Bellingham during the international break regarding a potential move to Anfield, according to journalist Dean Jones.

Jurgen Klopp was handed just shy of £100 million to strengthen his squad during the summer transfer window but further investment is already being planned on Merseyside.

After England drew 3-3 with Germany in the Nations League at Wembley, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson praised the teenager’s ‘mentality’ and described him as an ‘amazing player’.

The Reds have been strongly linked with Bellingham and are understood to be making progress as they look to prise him away from Dortmund next summer.

The Bundesliga giants spent just £30 million on the former Birmingham City man back in 2020 but now value him at £132 million.

However, Liverpool may have hope of landing him in a cut-price deal, as The Sun report Dortmund may be willing to accept an £83 million bid if the fee is paid upfront.

Jones believes it is likely Liverpool’s representatives in the England squad will have talked to Bellingham regarding a potential move.

However, the journalist adds that they would have not spent too much time on the topic as they look to book their own spots in Qatar.

When asked about the potential for conversations, Jones told GIVEMESPORT: “It’s not unheard of that it happens, I’m not sure that it would have happened this time around. It was a weird England meet-up this time in terms of where everyone’s at in their current season and the plans to try and get into that World Cup squad.
