Liverpool: Klopp should now 'consider' major Mohamed Salah decision at Anfield

Liverpool should consider moving Mohamed Salah into a more central position in a bid to get the team going again, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Egypt international is enduring virtually his first bad spell since he returned to English football back in 2017 and Jones reckons that a change of position should be in Jurgen Klopp’s thinking.

Pretty much everything Salah has touched in the last five years has turned to gold, but that simply hasn't been the case in the early months of this season.

The winger is without a league goal since scoring the consolation at Manchester United back in August and has looked a shadow of his former self in recent games, highlighted by the fact he was substituted at 2-2 against Arsenal on Sunday.

Salah's hopes of getting back to some sort of form haven't been helped by the team's struggles on the whole and the lack of impact Darwin Nunez has made since his arrival.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I think there's got to be a consideration to move Salah more central.

"Do you put him in a position whereby he's going to get more goalscoring opportunities, improve his confidence and try to get the team going that way?"

Salah has spent much of his career cutting in from the right and shooting with his left.

But he has played down the middle on a number of occasions, and perhaps unsurprisingly, he has performed well.

In the 38 matches that Salah has started as a centre-forward, he's scored an impressive 30 goals, many of which came during a spell in 2018 when he spent a period of time playing up front alongside Roberto Firmino.
