The now Aston Villa manager found the back of the net minutes into the showpiece fixture against Barcelona. Driving into the box, the former Reds skipper was fouled and was awarded a penalty. Dusting himself off, Gerrard slotted calmly home and celebrated by waving a kiss to a packed Anfield.
Gerrard's goal was the only one the Reds scored as they eventually succumbed a 2-1 defeat.
