Liverpool 'like' Aurelien Tchouameni as £33.5m transfer lined up

Liverpool are just 90 minutes away from a third Champions League final in five seasons after overcoming Villareal 2-0 at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

The two sides will meet again in Spain next Tuesday, where a date in Paris on May 28 with either Manchester City or Real Madrid is on offer. But it is the Reds who have taken control of the tie.

Jurgen Klopp has been able to call upon an almost fully fit squad in recent weeks but as his side continue their pursuit of a trophy quadruple, the Liverpool boss will still be looking to add to his outstanding squad in the summer as others make way. The Times

Liverpool's interest in signing Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is genuine, according to Paul Joyce.

In an article for the Times, Joyce has confirmed that the Reds management 'like' the 22-year-old and are aware that the France international is attracting interest from Real Madrid.

Any move forward will depend on a variety of factors, including price, says Joyce, but if a deal cannot be done for Tchouameni, a similar type of midfielder is what Liverpool are looking for.

David Carmo could finally be heading to Anfield this summer - with Liverpool expected to make a second attempt to sign him.

According to O Jogo, Jurgen Klopp tried to acquire the Braga centre-back on loan during the Reds' defensive crisis last season, with a deal that reportedly included a £17million buy option, but it was turned down on transfer deadline day.
