Liverpool hero blasts Cristiano Ronaldo over alleged incident after Everton defeat

Liverpool favourite Jose Enrique has slammed Cristiano Ronaldo after the Manchester United superstar allegedly 'smashed a mobile phone from a teenager's hand' at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon. On the pitch it proved another frustrating 90 minutes for United as they lost further ground in the top-four race.

However, an alleged flashpoint involving the five-time Ballon d'Or winner came at the final whistle. As he walked back to the changing room, footage appeared to show Ronaldo knocking an object out of a person's hand.

United confirmed they are 'looking into' the incident and the Portugal captain has also apologised for his 'outburst on social media. In a short statement posted on Instagram, Ronaldo said: "I would like to apologise for my outburst and, if possible, invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair play and sportsmanship."

Beyond that, Merseyside Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Police have confirmed that they are investigating reports over an alleged 'assault on a boy' and are appealing for witnesses.

Reposting the footage on social media, former Liverpool defender Enrique shared his take on the incident and did not hold back in criticising the United superstar. Addressing his 210,000 followers on Twitter, the Spaniard said: "I always said it. [I] don't like him he believes he's God and can do whatever he wants. That doesn't take
