LIVE updates following 'serious crash' in north Manchester as air ambulance lands

A large cordon is in place following a 'serious crash' involving a cyclist in north Manchester. A long stretch of Victoria Avenue East in Blackley has been taped off.

A large number of police officers are at the scene. The air ambulance has also been spotted landing nearby.

It follows what has been described by police as a 'serious road traffic collision' on Colmore Drive, which is off Victoria Avenue East, between a car and a cyclist.

The male cyclist has been seriously injured, the Manchester Evening News understands.
