Live updates as traffic gridlocked in Caerphilly after crash

There is heavy traffic on several main roads in Caerphilly and the surrounding area after a crash. The A468 is closed in both directions after a crash between B4263 St Cenydd Road (Trecenydd roundabout) to A469 (Cedar Tree roundabout).

Traffic monitoing system INRIX shows there is congestion to routes in and out of Caerphilly and that it is impacting traffic between Nantgarw and Ystrad Mynach.

A large section of the road, from the roundabout at St Cenydd Road to A469 is closed. The crash happened at around 10:51am and Gwent Police have confirmed emergency services are at the scene.

They have asked drivers to avoid the area. The force tweeted: "Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on the A468 between St Cenydd Comprehensive and the Cedar Tree roundabout.. The road is closed and diversions are in place, which may cause congestion."
