Live updates as three children found dead in Bristol house
Three children have been found dead in a house in Bristol. A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The children were found in the early hours of Sunday. At around 12.40am, police were called over concerns for the welfare of the people inside a house on Blaise Walk in the Sea Mills area of Bristol. Three children were pronounced dead at the scene. Their cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
An investigation has now been launched and a 42-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She is currently in police custody at hospital. People in the area reported seeing a heavy police presence and photos show part of the road cordoned off, with multiple police cars and a forensic team on the scene.
Neighbourhood chief inspector Vicks Hayward-Melen said: "This is an incredibly tragic and heartbreaking incident in which three children have sadly died. My sincere condolences go to the children's loved ones, and we will be ensuring they are offered support through our family liaison unit."
