Live updates as 'serious collision' shuts busy road both ways

A serious collision has closed a busy road in Porth with police at the scene. The A4058 is closed in both directions due to an accident between Morrisons and Coedcae Road.

The incident has caused queuing traffic and delays are expected in the area. South Wales Police have confirmed that the road is expected to be closed for some time and advised that alternatives routes are used.

A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on the A4058, Porth. The road is currently closed in both directions between the Heritage Park and Morrisons. It is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area.
