Live updates as police in Ely investigate alleged street stabbing
A man has been taken to hospital with a stab wound after an incident on a Cardiff road at lunchtime. Police were called shortly before 12.20pm on Thursday (September 14) to reports of an assault on Plymouth Wood Road, Ely.
A statement from South Wales Police said that a 38-year-old man from the Riverside area has been taken to hospital with a stab wound. It added that a 22-year-old man from Ely has been arrested on suspicion of affray and taken to Cardiff Bay police station. A spokesman said: "Investigations continue."
The road is closed in both directions and bus services in the area have been diverted.
