Live updates as major road closed in both directions due to campervan fire
The A4119 is closed in both directions after a vehicle caught on fire. Drivers have been warned as traffic is queuing along the A4093 Gilfach Goch turn off, Tonyrefail and Ely Valley Road, Coed Ely Roundabout.
Reports were made to the South Wales Fire and Rescue Services at approximately 5.05pm this evening - Monday, April 7 - of a vehicle being on fire along the A4119. Crews and appliances were deployed from Pontyclun to incident where they distinguished the fire by 6.20pm.
South Wales Police have also warned drivers as they attend the scene, closing the road in both directions. The road is expected to be closed for "some time".
The force said: "We're at the scene of an incident on the A4119, Coedely. The road is currently closed in both directions between the caravan centre and the roundabout for Tonyrefail.
It is expected to remain closed for some time; please avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. We're grateful for your patience."
