Port Talbot fire live updates: Huge fire takes hold at historic chapel

A huge fire has taken hold in Port Talbot this evening. Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service has six appliances in attendance at Bethany English Calvinistic Methodist Chapel on the corner of Station Road and Forge Road.

The fire service received many calls regarding the incident this evening, and attended at 6.51pm to find the derelict and disused place of worship "well alight".

Four normal fire engines, one aerial appliance and one water bowser is being used to tackle the fire.

Crowds are gathered in the area as efforts are made to bring the blaze under control.
