Live updates as holidaymakers evacuated from caravan park after heavy flooding

Several holidaymakers have said they were evacuated from a popular Welsh caravan park after extreme weather left the camp flooded. Campers staying in caravans at Kiln Park near Tenby were reportedly told to evacuate on Wednesday, November 1 after a "significant risk to life" flood warning was issued.

One woman shared on Facebook: "Just been evacuated from Kiln Park by Haven due to the impending weather. My children are breaking their hearts in the back of the car, so hopeful someone has something we can get into now."

Another customer posted a text appearing to be from the park's reception team, urging visitors to leave "as soon as possible." Natural Resources Wales issued a severe flood warning, its highest level of warning, for the River Ritec at 2.25pm on Wednesday, saying flooding at the site had become "extensive" and holidaymakers "may be asked to leave."

The situation is expected to get worse overnight with the arrival of Storm Ciarán, with NRW saying river levels could reach the highest on record. The next peak water level is expected to occur at 11pm on Wednesday evening.

Haven has been contacted for comment. Follow live updates below:
