Live updates as heavy snow falls in Wales and major road shuts

A warning has been issued to drivers after snow started to fall across Wales today. The Met Office has a yellow snow and ice weather warning in place on December 2 and 3, starting at 6pm today and ending at 12 noon on Sunday.

There are snow and ice warnings for large areas of the UK. The band covering part of Wales stretches across a swathe of the centre of the UK, towards the east coast above Norfolk up towards Newcastle. Other warnings are in place for the far north of Scotland, Cumbria and the south west of Scotland. You can read more about the weather forecast here.

Traffic Wales warned of potential disruption on the network. It said there was heavy snow at the Crimea Pass - the A470 route between Dolwyddelan and Blaenau Ffestiniog. This has now been shut. You can get more story updates straight to your inbox by subscribing to our newsletters here.
