UEFA Champions League draw live as Man City find out last-16 knockout opponents

Manchester City became only the second ever English side to complete a perfect UEFA Champions League group stage by winning all six of their matches this season.

The holders therefore go into pot one in the Round of 16 draw, which is set to take place at 11am in Nyon, Switzerland. Out of the English clubs, only City and Arsenal have made it through to the knockouts with both Newcastle and Manchester United finishing bottom of their groups.

Rules dictate that teams from the same country cannot play one another in the first round of knockouts, nor any other side who finished top of their group with Arsenal fitting both of those categories. City will fancy their chances against those in pot two.

Paris Saint-Germain and Inter are potential banana skins while PSV Eindhoven have won all 16 of their Eredivisie games this season. However, the Blues would be favourites regardless, especially against the likes of Napoli, Lazio, Porto and Copenhagen, who knocked United out of the competition.

City cannot face RB Leipzig who were in the same group as them, finishing runners-up.

With Inter finishing second in Group D behind Real Sociedad, there is the possiblity that City meet the team they beat in last season's final.

That was the first time the two clubs had met in their competitive history, and it was Manchester which got the better of Milan.
