Irish abroad: Duffy and McGrath among best performers

Republic of Ireland internationals Shane Duffy, Jamie McGrath and Alan Browne were among the best Irish performers abroad this weekend.

However, the top performance was much further afield than the UK, as Jay O'Shea received a rating of 8.7 from Sofascore for his performance for Brisbane Roar in Australia.

The Dubliner scored a penalty as Brisbane beat Adelaide United 2-0. The 35-year-old has been a key man for Brisbane this season as they sit in second place in the A-League.

Oisin McEntee received a rating of 8.2 after he scored a brace for Walsall in a 2-0 League 2 victory over Notts County.

Defender McEntee signed for Walsall in 2022, after coming through the academy at Newcastle United.

Duffy was third with 7.8, after he helped Norwich City keep a clean sheet in a 0-0 Championship draw with Preston. Also in the top Irish performers was Alan Browne, who featured for Preston in the game.

McGrath helped Aberdeen to a 2-0 victory over Hearts in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday.

After a strong performance last week, Olympique Lyonnais defender Jake O'Brien features in the list again.

In a tough season for Lyon, the form of the Dubliner has been one of the few positives.

He played the full 90 minutes on Sunday as an Alexandre Lacazette hat-trick fired Lyon to a much-needed 3-0 victory over Toulouse in Ligue 1.
