Live updates as five taken to hospital after accident closes busy Rhigos mountain road
Five people have been taken to hospital after a crash on a mountain road.
The Rhigos Mountain pass is closed in both directions after the accident near Zip World happened around 6.40am on Monday (June 19).
The air ambulance landed near the scene and five ambulances were sent. Four people were taken to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and one to the Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr.
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We sent five emergency ambulances, two rapid response cars, a duty operations manager and crews were supported by the Wales Air Ambulance."
Traffic monitoring system Inrix is reporting that traffic is slow in the area.
