Live updates as fire shuts two lanes on M4

A vehicle fire has caused a road closure in one part of the M4 this afternoon. Traffic Wales has confirmed that the M4 travelling eastbound between J35 Pencoed and J34 Miskin is currently closed due to a vehicle fire.

Lane one and two are closed due to the incident. According to Traffic Wales, emergency services are on scene, and they have warned road users to expect delays if they're travelling in the area.

Meanwhile, many Welsh roads are experiencing issues due to holiday traffic today. There is currently "stop-start" traffic on the M4 eastbound from J42 A483 (Swansea East / Briton Ferry ) to J41 ( Baglan / Pentyla) in Neath Port Talbot, while there's also queues due to holiday traffic on the A40 in both directions at the A4242 (Pontlesneven Roundabout) in Carmarthenshire.
