Live updates as bank holiday traffic turns M4, A40, A55 and A477 red with delays
Bank holiday traffic is causing a build up of congestion on several main routes around Wales this afternoon (May 6). The day started off quietly on the roads but there are reports of heavy traffic on parts of the M4 near Newport, on several main roads in Carmarthenshire and on the A55 in north Wales.
There is very slow traffic due to holiday traffic on the M4 eastbound from junction 28 Tredegar Park to junction 26 at the Brynglas Tunnels. An extra 20 minutes is being added on to journey times.
There are also queues in the A40 in Carmarthen eastbound at the Pontlesneven Roundabout, on the A40 northbound in Monmoutshire at Dixton Roundabout and on the A477 at St Clears in Carmarthenshire.
In north Wales, there is heavy congestion on the A55 around the Britannia Bridge and eastbound from junction 25 Bodelwyddan Interchange to junction 28 Rhuallt.
