LIVE: Sephora opens at Trafford Centre as THOUSANDS queue to get in - updates

'Thousands' of beauty fans have queued outside the new Sephora store for its official opening this morning. The first 500 in the queue were given an exclusive wristband at 9.30am ahead of the grand opening at 10am.

Some fans also reportedly 'camped out' outside the shop to get a place in the queue, with shoppers getting to the Trafford Centre at 6pm last night to bag their spot. The beauty megastore is the third to open in the UK following the success of its two London branches.

Last night, The shop hosted an exclusive pre-launch event saw the likes of former Corrie star and TV presenter actor Katie Mcglynn peruse the new space. She was joined by Caroline Thomas, actress Alex Fletcher and radio one presenter Natalie O’Leary.

The French multi-national retailer, which is hugely popular in the US, decided to open the Manchester store after it emerged as the most frequently requested city for the next location by the brand's passionate beauty customers.

On X, one user said they said 'saw girls camping outside'. Another said: "Don’t bother waking up at 4:30am to try and queue up, i missed out by 8 people and ive been here since 6… and thats the first 500!!! Not been told anything a lady in front surrendered her position to go and find out.."

A treasure trove for makeup mavens and skincare aficionados, the new shop sells brands such asLady Gaga’s Haus Labs, ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr, and Tarte, which can be hard to find in UK stores. Beauty fans can now also shade match and test out products in store.
