LIVE: Road closed in Manchester after 'serious crash' - latest updates

A road in Ardwick is closed off this morning after a 'serious crash'.

Hyde Road is closed travelling eastbound at Devonshire Street, according to Transport for Greater Manchester.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and take a different route.

Some bus services are also being diverted away from the scene.

In a tweet, TfGM said: "A57 Hyde Road, Ardwick.

"Road is closed from Devonshire Street traveling eastbound due to a road traffic collision.

"Use Devonshire Street, Stockport Road and Kirkmanshulme Lane.

"Follow @StagecoachGM for bus diversion info. #TfGMTraffic."

A tweet posted by Stagecoach said: "Routes 201,202,203,205. Due to a serious RTC on Hyde Road no bus stops will be served between Apollo roundabout and Pottery Lane from Piccadilly towards outer destinations.

"Services are diverting via Ashton Old Rd and Pottery Lane. Services towards Piccadilly are normal route."
