LIVE: Rail lines near Manchester closed after person hit by train - latest updates
Rail services bound for Manchester Airport are being cancelled this morning after a person was hit by a train. National Rail says passengers can expect disruption this morning as emergency services work on the line, through Cheshire.
The incident is affecting services between Warrington Bank Quay and Helsby this morning (December 8). The line includes services between Holyhead and Manchester Airport.
A spokesperson for National Rail posted online: "A person has been hit by a train between Warrington Bank Quay and Helsby. To allow the emergency services to safely carry out their work, all lines are currently closed.

"Trains running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised." Disruption is currently ongoing. British Transport Police has been approached for comment.
