LIVE: Queues build on FIVE roads as tipper truck overturns near M60 junction - latest updates

Queues are building up close to an M60 junction in Salford after a tipper truck overturned.

Traffic is tailing back on Barton Road, Leigh Road, Walkden Road, Worsley Brow and Worsley Road, close to junction 13 of the M60 in Worsley.

It follows a tipper truck overturning off Worsley Brow this afternoon (September 4).

Images show the vehicle on its side following a collision, while queues build up nearby.

Further details about the nature of the incident are yet to be confirmed.

Emergency services have been approached for further information.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “At shortly after 1.20pm on Thursday (September 4) one fire engine from Eccles was called to a road traffic accident on Walkden Road, Worsley, where a HGV overturned.

“Crews checked the area and vehicle were safe and were in attendance for around 20 minutes.”

Latest estimations from National Highways expects traffic to clear around 5pm.

The M60 anticlockwise exit slip road closed because of the earlier emergency repairs at J13 A572 Worsley Brow.

Traffic is growing on the motorway.
