LIVE: Police tape off town centre street after serious incident - latest updates

Emergency services have taped off a major street in Bolton town centre this morning following a serious incident.

Officers are on the scene on A676 Deansgate between A673 Marsden Road and Howell Croft North. Black Horse Street also closed.

It is believed the incident, which is understood to be a fire at a pub, took place in the early hours of the morning.

Greater Manchester Police and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for more information.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are 'ongoing', GMFRS have confirmed in a statement.

We are still awaiting a statement from GMP.
