LIVE: Police cordon off road in both directions amid incident - latest updates

A road in Oldham is cordoned off by police this morning amid an incident.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, Denton Lane in Chadderton is currently closed off in both directions. It is shut near Walsh Street.

Officers have reportedly been on the scene since around 3.30am. Eyewitnesses have reported seeing police cars stationed at either end of the cordon.

The nature of the incident has not yet been confirmed. Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for further details.
