LIVE: Greater Manchester street taped off as officers respond to incident amid 'screams being heard' - latest updates

Police have taped off a Rochdale street following an incident overnight. Oberlin Street is cordoned off between Manchester Road and Westminster Street this morning (November 5).

Greater Manchester Police is currently in attendance. A number of police vehicles have been seen parked up either side of the cordon this morning.

Officers have been seen carrying out door-to-door enquiries. Eyewitnesses reported hearing a commotion outside before police turned up.

One resident living close to the scene said they heard 'two lads arguing'. The nature of the incident police are responding to is not currently known. An image from the scene shows a GMP van outside the cordon.

One resident living close to the scene told the M.E.N. that police 'asked if I had seen a guy running down the road with no top on'.

Officers were carrying out enquiries with residents throughout the morning.
