LIVE: Police called to street after officers threatened by 'aggressive man' with weapon
A police scene is in place in Salford following reports of a concern for welfare. Officers are at Spa Grove, Little Hulton, where they found an "aggressive man" who threatened officers with a weapon.
According to eyewitnesses, armed police were spotted in the area with a tactical aid unit also at the scene on Monday evening (July 21). GMP say there is no wider threat to the community and specialist officers are currently in place.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service are also at the scene.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 4.10pm today (Monday 21 July 2025), we were called to reports of a concern for welfare at a property on Spa Grove in Little Hulton in Worsley.
"Emergency services attended the scene where they located a male who had become aggressive and threatened them with a weapon.
"There is no wider threat to the community. Specialist officers are on the scene and a cordon is currently in place."

Some residents who live behind the cordon are being allowed to go and get some food and return. Others aren’t being let through depending on how close they live to the property of interest."
Our reporter Rami, at the scene, says police are focused on one home on the street.
They are armed with tasers. Residents have told him negotiators are also present.

According to witnesses the incident involves a man who brandished a machete earlier this afternoon. One residents described this as a “stand off” between the man and police.
