Live updates as homes evacuated after unexploded device found
Streets in a Welsh town have been cordoned off and houses are being evacuated after reports that an unexploded device has been found in the garden of a house.
Police were called to Penarth in the Vale of Glamorgan shortly before 1.30pm on Tuesday, August 5, and remain at the scene late into the afternoon.
A cordon has been put in place and around 50 homes are being evacuated.
Police say they have taken action as a precaution and bomb disposal units will be attending the scene.
The ordnance has been found at a property in Plassey Street, but an image from the scene shows nearby Ludlow Street is also cordoned off. Join our WhatsApp news community here for the latest breaking news.
