LIVE: Murder investigation launched following man's death as woman arrested

A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man in Rochdale. Police were called to a house on Kensington Street at around 2.10pm today (Friday, July 21).

A man, 27, was pronounced dead at the scene, Greater Manchester Police said. A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

"Enquiries are ongoing at this stage and a scene will remain in place while officers conduct further enquiries," the force said in a statement.

The woman arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder remains in police custody this evening, GMP said.

No age for her has been released.

The man hasn't been identified either. A scene remains in place.

A spokesperson said:

At around 2.10pm today (Friday 21 July 2023), officers were called to a concern for welfare of a man at an address on Kensington Street, Rochdale.

Emergency services attended and sadly a 27-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.

Enquiries are ongoing at this stage and a scene will remain in place while officers conduct further enquiries.
