LIVE: Major road taped with large police cordon in place - updates
A major road into Manchester has been taped off by police this morning following a serious collision.
Emergency services raced to Hyde Road in Gorton near the Waggon and Horses Pub at around 2:30am on Wednesday (June 4).
A cordon remains in place, with commuters forced to divert on Wednesday morning. A black Volkswagen minivan with significant damage to the windscreen can be seen within the cordon.

Pictures from the scene overnight show police guarding the cordon as the vehicle is inspected. It is not clear exactly when the road will reopen.

Slow traffic has been reported in the area of the closure as commuters divert around the crash.
Hyde Road is closed between the junction with Chapman Street and the B6167 Reddish Lane.
Pictures from the scene overnight show police blocking the road as officers inspect the vehicle inside the cordon.
