LIVE: Main road blocked off due to police incident - latest updates

A main road in Ardwick is shut off this afternoon due to a police incident.

Hyde Road has been closed off at the junction with Devonshire Street. The outbound carriageway has been shut off.

People are being urged to avoid the area. Bus services are also being diverted.

A tweet posted by TfGM said: "ROAD CLOSURE. Hyde Road, Manchester Outbound at the junction of Devonshire Street.

"On-going Police Incident. Please avoid this area or take alternative route where possible.

"Local bus services are using diverted route."
