Live M62 traffic updates as Greater Manchester crash leaves lanes closed

Lanes are closed on the M62 following a crash today (Sunday, June 15).

Two lanes are shut to traffic on the westbound carriageway at Junction 18 (Simister Island).

The lane closures were first reported at around 11.34am.

Traffic cameras show motorists queueing in the area as a result of the incident.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M62 Westbound at J18 M66 J4 (Simister Island)."

This is what it is currently like near junction 18 on M62 following the closure of two lanes.

There are currently delays of 10 minutes against expected traffic on the M62, however, according to the AA traffic monitor, delay time is increasing.
